Auxiliary Nomination Committee

Past Presidents Kim Voss, Beaufort-Leslie Fire, and Chris Turner, Warrenton FPD report the slate of officers recommended for 2020-2022 as follows, 2-year term, and can extend duties another 2 years for the same position:

    Nomination for 1st Vice President:  Diane Hanes, Galt FPD
    Nomination for 2nd Vice President:  Sheri Berendzen, Cole County FPD
    Nomination for Secretary-Treasurer: Theresa Cox, Wentzville FPD
    Nomination for Sergeant at Arms:    Joni Fields, Paris FPD
    Nomination for Historian:   Carissa Thompson, Holt-Summit FPD

This will be presented at the August meeting due to the postponement of the FFAM Convention this year. You are encouraged to make it to the meeting to ensure your vote!

Meeeting called to order by President Diane Wynne at 9:00 a.m.

Minutes
Diane Wynne asked if there were any changes or comments or corrections for the December 1, 2019 meeting minutes. Theresa Cox made a motion to accept the meeting notes as written, seconded by Angela Fields, motion passed.

Financial report
Sheri Berendzen read the report with a total of $5,867.37 in our account at the closing of the October meeting. There were 2 deposits for a total of $315 and 2 expenses for a total of $875, with a new balance of $5,307.37. Jessica Miller made a motion to accept the financial report, seconded by Angela Fields, motion passed.

Auxiliary Meeting Minutes – January 2020

Meeting called to order by President Diane Wynne at 9:00 a.m.

Minutes
Diane Wynne asked if there were any changes or comments or corrections for the October 4, 2019, meeting minutes. Theresa Cox made a motion to accept the meeting notes as written, seconded by Carrisa Thompson, motion passed.

Financial report
Sheri Berendzen read the report with a total of $6,867.37 in our account at the closing of the October meeting. There was no deposit and one expense for $1,000 given to the Fire Museum, with a new balance of $5,867.37. Jessica Miller made a motion to accept the financial report, seconded by Carissa Thompson, motion passed. 

Committee Reports

Membership
Theresa Cox reported there were 24 renewal at this time. Theresa also announced that we have a new member and the department is Central Taney Co FPD.

Auxiliary Member or Auxiliary of the year
Jessica Miller said at this time there are no nominations. Said that nominations can be submitted to Diane Wynne, Shelia Nichols or herself.

Poster contest
No news.

Convention
Joyce Thompson said at this time there was no new news to report. There will be no alcohol allow at the contest or banquet which is being held at the high school. Reminder convention will be May 1-3, 2020.

Contest
There was no news to report about the contest.

Historian
We will be without a historian until convention, at that time we will vote in a new historian.

Old Business
Sheri Berendzen reported the name tags are ordered.

The media policy is still being gone over by the fire fighters side. 

Jessica said the tablecloths will be ordered soon and be here for the convention.

Ann was not able to attend so the reading of the by-laws is tabled at this time.

There will be a meeting in January about scholarships for the Phil Sayer Scholarships. Theresa and Carissa will be attending the meeting representing the auxiliary. Donation is being held until the January meeting.

New Business
Audit needs to be done at the next meeting.

Theresa talked about a letter she received from Burns Recovered asking for a donation. Pam Carsten use to do a quilt and the money made off of it went to the Burns Center. Carissa made a motion to donate $200 and second by Missy, motion passed.

Missy made a motion to adjourn meeting and second by Jessica. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 a.m. Next meeting is to held February 2, 2020.

Diane Wynne asked if there were any changes or comments for the August 4, 2019, meeting minutes. Theresa Cox made a motion to accept the meeting notes as written, seconded by Jessica Miller, motion passed.

Financial report

Sheri Berendzen read the report with a total of $7,117.37 in our account at the closing of the August meeting. There was no deposit and one expense for sponsorship of a floor for the NFFF stair climb, with a new balance of $6,867.37. Chris Turner made a motion to accept the financial report, seconded by Missy Erdel, motion passed. 

Committee Reports

Membership

Theresa Cox reported there 123 members and 11 honorary members, this has not changed since last report. Theresa said that dues for 2020 will be due at December 31.

Auxiliary Member or Auxiliary of the year

Jessica Miller said at this time there are no nominations. Said that nominations can be submitted to Diane Wynne, Shelia Nichols or herself.

Poster contest

No news.

Convention

Historian

Chris Turner is working on having pictures and historian info caught up before she moves.

Old Business

Sheri Berendzen reported on board name badges and she had some samples and cost for the badges for members to view. It was decided to go ahead and purchase the new name badges for the 6 auxiliary board members. Jessica Miller made a motion to purchase the name badges and was seconded by Theresa Cox, motion passed. 

Jessica Miller talked about the cost of ordering black table clothes to be used at conventions and such events. It will have FFAM auxiliary embroidery on it. It will be thru the same vendor so it will resemble what the FFAM has. Joni Fields made a motion to purchase 2 tablecloths and was seconded by Theresa Cox, motion passed.

By-Laws

Ann Jones read the proposed changes to the new by-laws. As the by-laws were read it was discovered that there were two typos. The by-laws need to be read again at the December meeting. The by-laws were published in the newsletter and need to be posted on the web page for all to view.

New Business

Diane Wynne talked about contributing funds to the Phil Sayer Scholarship. It was discussed on how much to donate each year. Joni Fields motion to donate $415 this year and if needed the executive committee has the authority to approve more was seconded by Jessica, motion passed. Theresa Cox and Joni Fields were appointed to a review committee that will assist the MU FRTI on reviewing scholarship applications.

Diane Wynne talked about at the 2020 convention and new board members will be voted in at that time. Diane asked all to think about if they would like to serve on the board.

Sheri Berendzen made a motion to adjourn meeting and second by Chris Turner. Meeting adjourned at 10:30 a.m. Next meeting is to held December 1, 2019.

Auxiliary By-Law Changes

The following are the proposed changes to the FFAM Auxiliary ByLaws.

ARTICLE I NAME

The name of this organization shall be the Auxiliary to the Fire Fighters Association of Missouri, hereinafter referred to as the Auxiliary.

ARTICLE II OBJECTIVE AND POLICIES

• To promote firefighting safety 

• To promote fire prevention education 

• To give fire and emergency assistance 

• To create and maintain a fellowship among members of the Auxiliary
