Have you heard? The Missouri State Fair Fire Department (MSFFD) is celebrating its 60th Anniversary at the 2022 Missouri State Fair from August 11th thru August 21.
We are inviting anyone who has served with our department to join us for an evening meal at the firehouse on the fairgrounds. Please bring your families and share your memories of the past 60 years of service and join us in celebration on August 13, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.
It will be Emergency Services Day at the fair and all emergency service personnel with a department ID will receive free admission to the fair.
We would also like to challenge all the members of the MSFFD who have served over the years, or anyone wanting to help recognize the MSFFD, to donate $60 to our fundraiser “60 for 60”.
Funds raised will be presented to the Firefighters Memorial Foundation to help reach their goal to finish the Education and Historical Preservation Center in Kingdom City. The checks should have 60 for 60 in the memo field and be made out to the Firefighters Memorial Foundation. You can mail your checks to Larry Eggen, 139 NW OO Hwy, Warrensburg, MO 64093. If you are able to contribute more, it will be appreciated. As a way to say Thank You to the past members of FFAM who had the wisdom and idea to start a fire department for the fair, we should show our appreciation for helping to finish the museum. We plan to do a check presentation at the evening meal to the Foundation from the MSFFD. Plans are being made to finish the Education and Historical Preservation Center and we ask for your support with this fundraiser to help recognize all the people who have given so much for the MSFFD to be a department for the past 60 years.
Applications for the 2022 Missouri State Fair are available in the newsletter or on Facebook under Missouri State Fair Fire Department for you to join the staff this year and assist during the 2022 fair. Please apply for one day or as many days as you are available for the fair for an experience of a lifetime for the 60th Anniversary.
