Auxiliary Minutes – July 2018

Meeting called to order by President Diane Hanes at 9:04 a.m.

Minutes
Diane asked if there were any changes or comments for the December 2017 meeting minutes. No changes were brought forward. Theresa made a motion to accept the meeting notes, seconded by Angela, motion passed.

Financial report
There were deposits of $ 2,829.00 and expenses of $ 634.63 and the ending total of $ 8,964.80. Missy made a motion to accept the financial report, seconded by Carissa, motion passed.

We had four members from the Kansas City Fire Department Auxiliary come and visit with us and asked questions about joining the auxiliary.

Committee Reports

Membership
Theresa reported that we have 144 members and 20 departments at this time.

Auxiliary Member of the Year
Diane is this year’s winner of the Auxiliary of the Year Award. She spoke on the honor of receiving the award.

Posters
Diane spoke about poster contest. She said that the rules on the contest are on the website.

Convention
Jessica was not able to attend the meeting, so Ann spoke about 2018 convention. At this time the 2019 convention has not been set.

Historian
Chris has taken some pictures. She was looking into doing an album of pictures she has already. Sheri was pictures for the 2018 Candlelight Service and Memorial Service.

Audit
Was completed at the time of the convention and it was declared the checkbook was balanced.

By-Laws
Was tabled at this time.

Old Business
There was no old business to discuss.

New Business
Carissa from Holts Summit FPD spoke on how the State Fair EMS equipment and supplies were damaged or ruined by a water leak in the storage closet where it was all stored. Some of the supplies are donated each year, but with the extensive damage to the supplies and equipment the State Fair Fire Department is asking for donations or supplies. It was discussed to donate $1,500 to the cause. Chris made a motion to give $1,500 to the State Fair Fire Department EMS to help replace what was lost and it was seconded by Ann, motion passed.

Theresa spoke on how the FFAM members helped move all the historical items that were stored in Kay Asher basement up to the memorial site basement storage area to store until the museum is built.

Kerrie made a motion to adjourn the meeting seconded by Angela, motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 10:30 a.m. Next meeting is to be August 5, in Sedalia, Missouri.
