It’s an exciting time for the Southeastern Randolph Fire Department (SRFD). SRFD Fire Chief Vic Sharp said the department in Clark, Missouri, received a Community Reinvestment Grant of $9000 and a Safe Community Grant of $1000 from Enbridge Energy Company on October 6th.

The funding will got to constructing a 30-by-30-foot training building at the Clark station for all local fire departments – as well as the community – to use, said Charlie Peel, who works with Enbridge and volunteers at the SRFD.

The plans for the building so far include an open design, but the building will likely have garage doors to close when necessary, Peel said.

The Clark firehouse is just two years old and is very similar to the station in Renick, Peel said.

Through community support, Enbridge is leaving a permanent footprint in Randolph County, Peel said.

SRFD has previously received a portable generator from the Missouri Department of Conservation for backup power.

SRFD official at a brief meeting to present the donation check, said they appreciate the support of the Randolph County Community and that of the MDC.

They concluded with a big thank you to Enbridge Energy.
