News From District 2 – March 2017

Hello from District 2. I didn’t get a chance to thank the fire funeral team and members of the FFAM for all their help at the 2016 Heroes tribute gala that was held in October. Along with the law enforcement and EMS funeral teams we honored 14 fire, law, and EMS individuals that gave their lives in the line of duty, as well as all public safety individuals that gave their lives as well. Nearly 100 individuals attended the event.

Attend the Ewing and LaBelle fire departments annual pancake breakfast this year. Big Crowd, great food and got to see a lot of old friends. If you are in district 2 let me know of your event. I would love to come if the schedule allows.

Supporting Heroes “Heroes Tribute Gala” was held March 4 in Louisville Ky. With the expansion of Supporting Heroes to Missouri, Missouri firefighters, law enforcement officers, and EMS individuals were honored. Very proud to have been able to attend the event and being a part of it.

Winter fire school is in the books. Thanks for all that stopped by the FFAM booth. Great to see all of you at the school and expo again this year.

Congratulation to members of the Heartland and Newark fire departments on their completion of their basic firefighter program.

Please make sure you mark our calendar for May 20 and 21 as the 2017 Missouri Fallen Firefighter memorial service will be held in Kingdom City. Saturday night, the candle light service and Sunday the memorial service. Please make plans to attend this very special event honoring our firefighter brothers and sisters that have gave the ultimate sacrifice as well as those that dedicated their lives to the fire service. Make sure you sponsor a flag to be placed at the memorial. $35 can sponsor one. See the web site or your FFAM magazine for more information.

As always be safe. Till next time
