Howell County Rural Fire District #1 recently had a Firefighter Appreciation dinner. We honored those that had been with our department for five years or more. In the picture first row from left to right are: Lieutenant/Head Safety Officer Lee Arthurs- 6 years of service; Captain Verlin Bunch, 8 Years of service; Assistant Chief Chris Wilbanks, 7 years of service; and Fire Chief Joe Auffert, 35 years of service. Back row from left to right: Administrative Officer Christel Cantrell, 15 years of service; Board Vice President Doyle Surritte, 15 years of service; Board President Joe Bean, 17 years of service; and Secretary Fern Welker, 5 years of service. We appreciate these men and women serving our community.
