F.F.A.M.

Greetings to All from Officer 4

sf-4Well sad to say another fair has come and gone. Oh, but it was another good one, lots of hard work and lots of good fun was had by all.

This year we met lots of new friends and got to see our old friends we have had forever and we hope the trend will continue next year and it will if everyone tells there friends about their experiences.

We added a new commissioner and Rick Dozier was a great addition to our commission. Thanks Rick. Also we did not have any major equipment failures this year and that’s always a plus. The first couple day’s were hot as all get out and the calls were up, but that’s someone else’s department.

Thanks to our new chief this year Donnie Rogers. Chief Rogers and his staff did a very good job. Also the new chef and his crew did a super job in the kitchen. Thanks R.B. Brown.

I had several venders step up and give me some neat things to hand out and I hope everyone enjoyed the gifts and gets a chance to thank all the vendors for those gifts. Mike McNeal has given me a helmet for the last three years. The 2015 helmet was won in a drawing by Blake Rasmussen from Johnson Co. and the 2016 helmet was won by Sylmon Thompson from Corder. We also had a new vendor Les Hinnen of Heiman Fire step up and give us a second helmet so I had hem make it a blue one for EMS. We drew from the EMS group and a new guy won it. Needless to say he is hooked, that’s Sam Stein from Eureka.

We had 100 firefighters and EMS come to work the fair this year representing 64 different departments, that’s good coverage.

It won’t be long before starting to think about convention and we all know the fair is just around the corner from that. Watch your newsletters for updates and applications and stay safe out there every one.
