Auxiliary Minutes – July 2015

Meeting called to order by Chris Slaughter at 9:02 a.m.

PRESENT
Chris Slaughter, Warrenton FPD; Diane Hanes, Galt FPD; Susan Voss-Beaufort, Leslie FPD; Theresa Cox, Wentzville FPD; Jessica Miller, Norborne FPD; Sheri Berendzen, Cole County FPD; Ann Jones, Madison West Monroe FPD; Pam Carsten, Cole County FPD; Joyce Thompson, Kearney Fire and Rescue.

OLD BUSINESS
Chris commented the memorial service was a success this year. Diane stated Galt made 350 ribbons and could have used at least 50 more. This year glow sticks were used vs. candles, liked them better.

Chris asked if anyone had any changes or comments from the previous meeting notes. Pam made a motion to accept the meeting notes, seconded by Sheri, motion passed. It was suggested to ask Jamie if we could put the meeting notes on the website in PDF format to enable viewing and printing by the members. Theresa said she will see if she could generate all correspondence in PDF format going forward.

Financial report stating balance was $1,438.58. After expenses and income new balance is $3,195.87. Noted we received a check for credit card payments from the Silent Auction at Convention of $648.46, which brings our balance to $3,844.33. Susan made a motion to accept the financial report, seconded by Diane, motion passed.

COMMITTEES

HISTORIAN
Sheri reported some of the pictures she took at convention were used for the recent newsletter.

AUXILIARY OF THE YEAR
Chris will speak to the past winners to ensure they are pursuing nominations. Reminder past winners and whole auxiliaries can be nominated. Susan will get copy of past winners to Chris and Sheri.

POSTERS
Entries were still on wrong size paper and missing proper information again. All winners will receive something at the State Fair when they attend this year.

SILENT AUCTION
The donating department/person needs to inform us if they want their item(s) to be auctioned or raffled. If raffled encouraged to bring raffle supplies (tickets) with donated item. Diane purchased the clips to hang items to display. Theresa will check into a credit card processing system.

BYLAWS
Jessica will send updated Bylaws to Jamie for the website.

NEW BUSINESS
Open discussion on how we can bring more women to our auxiliary meetings.

Ann made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Pam, motion passed, adjourned at 9:53 a.m.

Next meeting August 9, 2015 at Sedalia Missouri.
