The Cole County Fire Protection District purchased two Pierce Contenders apparatus from Schuhmacher Fire Equipment, Washington, MO. The Contenders are mounted on Kenworth chassis powered by a 330 horse Detroit diesel with Allison automatic transmissions. The units have Waterous 1250 GPM pumps, 1000 gallon poly tanks, Whelen LED warning lights, Whelen LED telescoping scene lights and roll up compartment doors. The district purchase the apparatus for $396,000. The apparatus will replace two front line pumpers at the Henley and Mary’s home stations.
